Product Description
Z Automotive BurnBox G1
Works With:
2006-2010 Dodge Charger
2005-2010 Chrysler 300
2005-2008 Dodge Magnum
2008-2014 Dodge Challenger
Line Lock: Using one of the cruise control buttons/lever (depending on vehicle model), the BurnBox G1 uses the ABS valves to hold the vehicle with the front brakes so you can hit the gas and do a perfect burnout as long as you wish, with no wear on the rear brakes. No plumbing is required! This is a perfect alternative to the traditional plumbed-in solenoid type line lock/roll control. Super simple and cannot be detected! Gone are the days of plumbing in external solenoids in the brake system, having to bleed the brakes and run wires through the firewall to a switch.
Light Show: Using steering wheel buttons, turn on a light show that flashes the exterior lights in 6 different patterns.
– 6 pre-set patterns
Z Automotive Programming Utility (for Windows PCs only) is used for firmware updates and for configuration:
– Choose which exterior lights are included in the patterns
– Choose which pattern to start with
– Can be enabled for in-motion use for authorized users and off-road parade use; email tech support for instructions
Cooldown: Turn on the engine fan, (2 speeds) for cooling down the vehicle between runs at the track. Low battery automatic shutdown.
INSTALLATION IS A SIMPLE MATTER OF PLUGGING IT INTO THE DIAGNOSTIC OBD2 PORT WHICH IS LOCATED ABOVE THE PARKING BRAKE.
Installation
Installation is a matter of simply plugging the BurnBox G1 Module into the OBDII diagnostic port under the dashboard, above the parking brake. The module will shut itself off, 30 seconds after the car goes to sleep. So there’s no need to unplug it – it’ll always be ready to use.
Operation
Line Lock: The BurnBox G1 will use the factory ABS solenoids to lock the front wheels for burnout purposes. It can only be activated when the vehicle is at a full stop and at idle.
2005-2010: Pull the cruise stalk towards you to activate. Once the ABS light on the dash illuminates, pump then release the brake pedal to build up the front brake holding pressure. Press the gas pedal, and the rear wheels will break traction. Releasing the stalk will release Line Lock.
2011-2014: Press the cruise cancel button to activate. Once the ABS light on the dash illuminates, pump then release the brake pedal to build up the front brake holding pressure. Press the gas pedal, and the rear wheels will break traction. Releasing the cancel button will release Line Lock.
CoolDown Mode
The BurnBox G1 can turn on the engine fans while the vehicle isn’t running, which can be helpful at the track. To use this, the ignition needs to be on, engine not running. Cruise “Set” will turn the fans on, “Cancel” will turn them off.
Light Shows
The BurnBox G1 will flash the headlights, turn signals, fog lights, and reverse lights in 6 different patterns – for off-road use only. This function will turn off if the vehicle is in motion, unless it’s unlocked for in-motion use. Consult tech support for details.
-2005-2010: Push the high beam stalk to the hi-beam on position. Push the cruise stalk in momentarily (on/off) to start the show. Press on/off again to advance to the next show. The show will cancel if the high beam stalk is moved back to its normal position or if the vehicle moves.
-2011-2014: Push the high beam stalk to the hi-beam on position. Push the cruise on/off button momentarily to start the show. Press on/off again to advance to the next show. The show will cancel if the high beam stalk is moved back to its normal position or if the vehicle moves.
Configuration of the BurnBox G1 Module is accomplished by using the supplied USB cable connected to a PC, using the ZPU Programming Utility. The ZPU User Guide explains how to install ZPU and how to perform firmware updates.
