To install:

1. Clean the chrome grille bar with dish soap and water, followed by the alcohol wipes provided.

2. Starting with one side, center the decal on the chrome bar and press the center.

3. Slowly press up and down on the decal away from the center to adhere it to the grille bar.

4. Tuck the small vinyl overhang under the chrome plastic grille bar frame that covers the very edge of the center chrome piece. (This can be achieved by using a vinyl install tool or a credit card)

    C7 Carbon Fiber grill overlay

Posted by Roger on Mar 8th 2021

Awesome Overlay! This one I did for a friend.

Overlay arrived quickly and was exactly as described. Installation took 3 to 5 minutes per side of grill bar including prep time to clean and wipe with included alcohol prep wipes, (there are two pieces of overlay to cover the left and right sides of the two piece grill bar).

Instructions say to start in the middle and work outward. I started by carefully fitting the curvature at the narrowing of the chrome grill bar (only peeling the outer part to end of tape away from paper backing), and then worked toward the outside being sure to cover right up to where chrome grill bar abutts the black carbon flash part of grill. I then applied the remaining overlay toward the center grill separation carefully stretching slightly to match curvature of the grill.

If done right you’ll have about 1/2” or less of overlay at the center. I cut it off with sharp scissors leaving about 1/8” of overlay which I pressed into the center grill desperation with a thin plastic card. I then used the card along the top and bottom of the grill bar to the outer edgers to tuck excess material under grill ends. Smoothed the length of the bar with microfiber towel. Looks and feels great! Looks exactly like real carbon fiber!

This exceed my expectations. Not perfectly cut, but it worked out with a little readjustment. Looks great.
